I’ve lived in Ixelles now for almost three years, with this little cafe a stone’s throw away. Shamefully this was my first visit last weekend. But won’t be my last!
L’epicerie has a very cozy feel to it, the windows swamped by the ivy growing outside with lots of wood inside -perfect for spending time during a cold afternoon. The owner is very friendly and welcoming too.
I ordered the smoked salmon, guacamole and tomato sandwich whilst the other half went for prosciutto, rocket and tomato.
The guacamole had a lovely curried hint to it and the prosciutto was wonderfully salty.
You can also have the ‘plat du jour’ or one of their salads if you’re a bit hungrier than we were.
L’epicerie also sells groceries and wine which is to be expected given the name!
